A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Diane Wendelsdorf, age 79, of Jackson will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Jackson on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.

Diane (Jensen) Wendelsdorf was born on October 12, 1945, to Francis and Ethel (Knudtson) Jensen in Estherville, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Diane attended Riverside school and graduated from Jackson High School.

On February 19, 1966, Diane was united in marriage to Richard Wendelsdorf at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson. This union blessed them with two children, Brian and Dawn. The family lived in Terril, Iowa before finally settling in Jackson, MN. Diane worked at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson as a cook until her retirement in 2016.

Diane was a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson. She was a member of Ladies Aid.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, watching Soap Operas and spending time with family. Diane always lit up when her grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit. She cherished the holidays with her family, especially Christmas.

On Friday, December 27, 2024, Diane passed away peacefully at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Left to cherish Diane's memory are her children, Brian Wendelsdorf of Jackson, Dawn Eckstein of Windom; grandchildren, Brandi Pohlman, Jordan Newton; great grandchildren, Ericka Manznio, Lily Wendelsdorf, Jason Manznio, Micah Wallert, Jose Pucheta Newton; brothers, Delmar Jensen of Jackson and Dale Jensen of Jackson and many other family members and friends

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard and sister Deloris Matthews.
