Obituary

Dolores Ione Fruehling was born on October 1, 1928 to the late John and Regina (Zettler) Elsing in Comfrey, Minnesota. She grew up in the Lamberton area and graduated from Lamberton High School in the Class of 1946. Dolores was baptized at the Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey and later confirmed in that same church. On September 6, 1947, Dolores was united in marriage to Andrew Fruehling and made their home on a farm near Delft. In the falls of 1962, they moved their current farm to raise their family. Dolores was an amazing baker and cooker and got the family nickname of "Betty Crocker" because there always was a pie on the counter and fresh cookies in the freezer. Everyone had their favorite treat that only Dolores could make. Dolores and Andy were married for 73 years-that is lifetime full of devotion and love for each other that movies are made from. Dolores was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers and served on many ladies' aide, funeral committees, and other church groups. She was a fulltime wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She made everyone feel welcomed into her home with a warm cup of coffee, a home-made treat and good conversation. In her spare time Dolores loved to read and watch sports. Dolores is survived by her loving husband of seventy-three years, Andrew Fruehling of rural Sanborn; one son, Rodney Fruehling and his wife, Judy of Jeffers; son-in-law, Phil Davis of New Ulm; 5 grandchildren, Chris and Becky Davis, Jen Davis, Melissa and Randy Kaisner, Michelle and Herb Scott, Ashley and JJ Noel; 4 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Raenah Kaisner, Megan and Ian Scott; several nieces and nephews. Dolores is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carol Davis; grandson, Scott Davis; two brothers, Donald and Harold Elsing; infant sister, Elaine Elsing; two sisters-in-law, Minnie and Adell Elsing.
