Donald Lee Wilking was born on July 13, 1955, in Tracy, MN to the late Herman and Goldie (Sorbel) Wilking. He was baptized and later confirmed on May 16, 1971, into the Christian faith. He attended and graduated from Tracy High School.

Don met the love of his life, Lanae Whaley, while the two were in junior high school. The two were united in marriage on August 2, 1975. This union blessed them with three sons, Dillon, Dru and Dustin. Don and Lanae raised their boys on the farm in Rost Township.

Don was a skilled Machinist. He worked at Rosenboom up until his retirement in December of 2018.

Don was a member of the Lakeshore Saddle Club. He enjoyed raising horses, trail riding and judging rodeos. Don also loved spending time with his family, especially his seven grandchildren.

Don passed away on October 6, 2024, in his home in rural Lakefield.

Don is survived by his wife, Lanae of Lakefield; his children, Dillon (DeeDee) Wilking of Crofton, NE, Dru (Kaycee) Wilking of Hartford, SD, Dustin (Abby) Wilking of Lakefield, MN; grandchildren, Dalton, Destry, Teegan, Rehme, Donavan, Peyton, and Drake; brothers, David (Kathy) Wilking of Tracy, MN, Darrel (Karen) Wilking of Tabor, SD, Duane (Carol) Wilking of Yankton, SD; sisters-in-law, Deb (Cal) Ludeman of Tracy, MN, Julie (Jeff) West of Lakeville, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie and Herman Wilking; grandson, Bryson Wilking; and parents-in-law, Carol and Lloyd "Bud" Whaley.

The family has chosen to have a private time of gathering, no public services will be held.
