Donald "Don" Dean Zimmer, the son of Afrom and Alice (Willaby) Zimmer was born March 19, 1959, in Bertha, Minnesota. He was baptized at Bartlett Lutheran Church outside of Bertha. He attended Bertha Hewitt Elementary school. In 1970 the family moved to Comfrey Minnesota and then moved to a farm outside of Storden, Minnesota. Don was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey. Don graduated from Storden/Jeffers High School in 1977. After high school Don worked a few jobs and then accepted a position at the Toro plant in Windom. He has worked at Toro for the past 42 years. In 1983 Don married Deb Jensen at American Lutheran Church. They have lived and raised their family in Windom for 38 years. Don enjoyed riding motorcycle and tinkering in the garage. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family over a cup of coffee. Don was also a successful musician playing bass guitar in numerous bands over the years. Over the years he played with Blood Brothers, The Mixx and Rock and Roll Review. Don peacefully passed December 31, 2021, at Sanford Health Hospital in Sioux Falls surrounded by his family. Don is survived by his wife, Deb of 38 years, his children Jerod (Tonya) Zimmer of Lennox, SD; Alison (Chad) Kutzbach of Spencer, IA, and Cody (Callie) Zimmer of Windom, MN. His brother Gordy (Vicki) Zimmer, Tom (Dawn) Zimmer, and Tammy (Chad) Crowell. Grandchildren, Kyle Zimmer, Aiden Zimmer, Isabella Zimmer, Easton Kutzbach, Morgan Kutzbach, Olivia Zimmer, and Hallie Kutzbach. He was proceeded in death by his parents, three brothers, Allen and Douglas Zimmer and a brother in infancy; a sister Jody Zimmer, his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. A Celebration of Life Service for Donald "Don" Zimmer, age 62 of Windom will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 6th at the American Lutheran Church in Windom with Pastor Sarah Larsen Tade' officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Windom. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 5th at the LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom and on Thursday, January 6th at the church in Windom for one hour prior to the service.
