Donald Richard Schuur was born in Windom, Minnesota on March 20, 1938, to Epko and Alice (Korthouse) Schuur. He attended school in Bingham Lake and Windom. On March 5th, 1961, Don was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Beckius of Saint James, Minnesota. He was drafted into the Army in September of 1961. Don was stationed at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas where he and Pat were blessed with their daughter, Carol Ann. Don was honorably discharged in September of 1963 and the family returned to Bingham Lake, Minnesota. Don started working at Toro on October 8, 1963. He worked as a millwright until his retirement on August 17, 2001, having been employed there for 38 years. He spent most of his spare time outdoors, working in the yard on cars or tractors, and any other projects. He had a love for German Shepherds and had several very loved canine companions over the years. Don passed away peacefully at his home in Bingham Lake on December 22, 2021. Don is survived by Pat, his wife of 60 years; daughter, Carol Goeman (John Rosenkranz) of Bingham Lake; grandchildren, Jennifer (Doug) Herman of Scotland, SD, Jamie (Brett) Nolte of Windom, Jareth Goeman (Corinne Thompson) of Windom; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Zachary and Hilary Nolte; and Trenton Herman and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Epko and Alice Schuur; and his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Harold Hoffert.
