Donna Crowell was born on April 10, 1940, to the late Arnold and Elsie (Pankonin) Nickel of Jeffers, MN. Donna was baptized at the Red Rock Evangelical United Brethren Church on June 16, 1940, and was later confirmed there. She attended Jeffers High School where she was active in Band and was a member of the Coronet Trio. Donna graduated from Jeffers High School on May 28, 1958.

Donna was united in marriage to Paul Crowell on July 30, 1960, at the Red Rock Evangelical United Brethren Church. They both became active members of the church. Donna modeled her strong faith in the Lord to many youth as she taught Sunday School to them. She also played piano for the church.

Paul and Donna began their married life on a farm in Dale Township, Cottonwood County near Windom, MN. They farmed there until January 1968, when they moved to a farm in Dale Township near Jeffers, MN. They purchased that farm in 1974 and were great stewards of the land as they farmed. They enjoyed dancing on Saturday nights, card clubs, camping, and fellowship with family, friends, and neighbors.

Donna worked for Carl Otto at the Register of Deeds Office in the Windom Courthouse after she married Paul. When Paul and Donna started raising a family, Donna lived the rest of her life as a loving, supportive farm wife while helping Paul raise their family. Paul and Donna were blessed with five children: Debra, Darla, Alan, Denise, and Deanne. Donna always came alongside Paul assisting with the farming operations. She made meals and would drive meals to the field so Paul could keep farming. Donna also drove tractor, but her main part of the farming operation was raising five children and raising them with Christian values. Her love for the Lord guided her every move as she modeled Jesus' unconditional love to her children and husband. The Bible was Donna's guidebook, and she could be seen doing her devotion and prayer time at the kitchen table every day. Her children are forever grateful for the Christian home they grew up in where Jesus' love was modeled.

Donna enjoyed baking, cooking, coffee parties, attending their children's and grandchildren's activities, camping, dancing, and Ladie's Bible Studies.

Donna moved to Gove Acres in Windom, MN on August 19, 2023. She was recently placed in Hospice Care at her home. She then was moved to the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN.

Donna is survived by four daughters: Debra (Dean) Schroeder of Windom, Darla (Todd) Deutchman of Windom, Denise Hansen of Windom, and Deanne (Steven) Cogdill of Brookings, SD; eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren, Brittany (Adam) Koch and children, Sullivan and Finley, Shantel (Nick) Peterson and children Ethan and Jaelynn, Erin (John) Anderson, Joel (Stephanie) Deutchman and children, Troy, Tesla, and Ezra, Cody (Jasmin) Hansen and son, Blayne, Cortney Hansen, Autumn Cogdill, and Colton Cogdill; sisters-in-law, Susan Nickel of Mountain Lake, MN and Julie Crowell of Heron Lake, MN; brothers-in-law, Earl (Vonette) Crowell of Magnolia, AK, and Gary Mather of Eagan, MN; and several other nieces, nephews, and relatives.
