Doris Jean (Froehling) Curry was born on February 6, 1934, to John and Alma (Johnson) Froehling, in St. James, Minnesota. She attended St. James Public School and graduated with the class of 1952. On June 19, 1954, Doris was united in marriage to Richard A. Curry in St. James. The couple was blessed with three sons, Mark, Matt, and Mitchell. The Curry family moved to Windom in 1958. Doris worked at the Corner Café in Windom, and she cleaned houses for many years. Doris was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Windom, where she was a trustee and deacon. She taught Sunday School and was a member of church Circle. Doris gave back to the community through her volunteer work as a Great Bend 4-H Club member and leader. She volunteered frequently at the church and in the community, especially through the Business Arts & Recreation Center (BARC). Doris was a member of the "Red Hatters", and she enjoyed crafts, going to horse shows, and spending time with her family and friends. On June 1, 2022, Doris passed away at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Doris is survived by her sons, Mark Curry of Waco, NE, Mitchell Curry of Windom, and Matt Curry of Windom; 3 grandchildren, Travis, Kaye and Kristel; several great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dennis Curry of St. James; sister-in-law, Jean Froehling of Woodbury; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Curry; parents, John and Alma Froehling; daughter-in-law, Kim Curry; and brothers, Mike & Don Froehling. Blessed be the memory of Doris Curry.
