A Celebration of Life Visitation to honor the life and legacy of Douglas Woizeschke, age 70, of Windom, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 11 to 3 PM.

The family has asked for people to wear John Deere Tractor or Sprint Car attire and to keep it casual per Doug's request.

Douglas "Doug" Alan Woizeschke was born on April 13, 1954, to Fred and Marvel (Myrvold) Woizeschke in Windom, Minnesota. Doug was baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Windom. He attended school in Windom and graduated in the class of 1972. Doug met Charlene Soleta and the two were united in marriage on March 19, 1977. They were blessed with two children: Nicole and Grant.

Throughout his life, Doug worked at the Windom State Theater, People's Gas Company, and The Toro Company. He worked at The Toro Company from 1972 to 2018 when he retired. He was very proud of his work on the line. He took great pride in the machine his line manufactured, both snowblowers and lawnmowers.

Next to his family, he loved "all things John Deere", snowmobiling and Sprint Car racing. In his younger days, he spent much time with Harold and Randy Olson helping on the farm. He was an avid collector of farm toys and enjoyed attending numerous toy shows visiting vendors and other collectors. One of his favorite vacations was to Waterloo, IA and Moline, IL to the John Deere Factories. Doug enjoyed snowmobiling on the Des Moines River to Jackson and back. He also enjoyed going to the Minnesota State Fair and the Clay County Fair every year.

He was a regular at the Jackson Motorplex and watched numerous laps of racing, documenting every feature winner. Doug liked to attend flea markets with his family, always looking for a deal. He enjoyed photography- taking many photos at tractor shows, air shows, car races and his personal favorite, the Butterfield Threshing Bee. Doug followed the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. Doug and Char also were avid concert goers. In true fashion, Doug kept every ticket stub from every concert he ever attended. His favorites were the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac.

Douglas passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8th, at Windom Area Health in Windom.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Char Woizeschke of Windom; daughter, Nicole (Chad) Barker of Sioux Falls; son, Grant Woizeschke of Windom; mother, Marvel Woizeschke of Windom; brothers, Kelly (Sheila) Woizeschke of Windom, Jon (Heidi) Woizeschke of Spirit Lake, IA, Mark Woizeschke of Windom; nieces and nephews.

Douglas was preceded in death by his father, Fred; grandparents, Karl and Rena Woizeschke, Elmer and Gladys Myrvold; uncles, Heinrich and Ed Woizeschke; aunt, Gayleen Woizeschke; parents-in-law, Lennie (Kathy and Pat) Soleta; brothers-in-law, David Soleta, Douglas Soleta; sister-in-law, Laura Soleta; niece, Shelby Woizeschke.
