A Mass of Christian Burial for Duane Spangler, age 65, of Lehr, North Dakota, formally of Jackson, will be held on August 20th at 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jackson with Father Jonathan Fasnacht officiating. Burial will be at the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Jackson MN. Visitation and time of gathering will be held on Friday, August 19th from 5 PM to 7 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson. Visitation will continue on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church in Jackson. Duane "Dewey" Spangler was born on August 14th, 1956, in Jackson, Minnesota to the late Leslie Albert and Joan Christina (Wenzel) Spangler. Duane was baptized on August 25, 1956 and attended Jackson Schools. Duane was blessed with four children and two stepdaughters, Shane, Shyloryne, William, Duane Jr., Christina, and Stephanie. Duane enjoyed spending time with his children as well as his 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Duane spent many years working as a plumber and a hands-on, jack of all trades. In Duane's free time he loved spending time with his friends, hunting, fishing, and simply enjoying nature. Duane resided in Lehr, North Dakota. He was hospitalized at South Central Health, in Wishek, North Dakota, where he passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the age of 65 years. Left to cherish Duane's memory are his six children; Shane Spangler (Jennifer) of Laurens, IA; Shyloryne Roark (Stewart Sr.) of Lakefield, MN; William Spangler (Kayla) of Lakefield, MN; Duane Jr. Spangler (Sarah) of Marshfield, WI; Christina Cromwell of Ada, OK; Stephanie Cromwell of Cherokee, IA; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; mother, Joan Spangler of Wahpeton, IA; one sister; Patt (David Sr.) Swanson of Arnolds Park, IA; one brother; Dennis Spangler of Wahpeton, IA; and many nieces and nephews. Duane is preceded in death by his father; Leslie Spangler; and 4 baby brothers. Blessed be the memory of Duane Spangler.
