Duane Stubbe was born on October 18, 1976 in Dell Rapids, South Dakota to Ronald and Virginia (Loder) Stubbe. Through the years, Duane lived in various cities throughout South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota; graduating from Windom High School in the Class of 1996. Duane then attended Minnesota West in Canby, Minnesota where he studied auto-mechanics. He then began working for Town's Edge Auto in Mountain Lake.

After marriage, Duane worked as an over the road truck driver; hauling mainly grain and livestock. His last job with Hedquist Farms was one he cherished and could not have asked for a better employer. Duane had many enjoyments in life which included helping others, watching racing and helping with now and then, but most of all, he loved spending time with his boys and watching them play hockey.
On Saturday, October 31, 2015, Duane passed away at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was an organ and tissue donor and was able to give others "life" through his death.
Duane is survived by his wife, Rosie Stubbe of Westbrook; three sons, Cayden Olsen of Windom; Dawson and Walker Stubbe of Westbrook; mother, Jenny Reimche of Fairmont; father, Ron Stubbe of Walnut Grove; brother, Jason Stubbe of Big Lake; sister, Heather (Dustin) Philipp of Fairmont; special niece, MacKenzie of Olney, IL; mother-in-law, Vicky Bixby of Windom; Rosie's siblings; and several nieces and nephews.
