Obituary

Edward Herman Kremmin was born June 26, 1926 in Carson Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to Otto and Minnie (Gerdes) Kremmin. As a young person, Ed was Baptized and confirmed at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. His early years included beginning his education at District 80 rural school, near the home farm, and then later graduated with the Mountain Lake High School Class of 1944. On July 23, 1966, Ed was united in marriage to Joan(Joni) Rothstein at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom. In his early years, Ed helped out with the Bingham Lake Locker plant and also farmed the homestead with his brothers Otto and Ken for many years until the farm crisis in the mid-1980s. In his later years, Ed worked at and was a life member of the Eagles Club in Windom. He served the club and community in many capacities. His outlook of life was always expressed in a humerous way. Joni and Ed maintained a large circle of friends as they labored and served in the community. He and Joni shared their talents cooking at the American Legion Club and the Eagles Club. Ed enjoyed and followed all of Minnesota's sports teams. A great many hours were spent watching Gopher basketball, the Minnesota Twins and the Timberwolves. His family and many friends knew him as an honest man who enjoyed pranks and sharing funny stories. Joni died in 2009 and following that change in life, he continued in his familiar ways and attitude. For the final year of his life, Ed had been a resident of the Sogge Good Samaritan Community in Windom. He died on Thursday evening, November 14, 2019 at the age of 93 years. His family includes sons, Timothy (Karen) Kremmin of Windom and Terance (Dawn) Kremmin of New Prague, MN., 2 grandchildren, Melissa Ann Kremmin and Todd Michael (Katie) Kremmin, 2 great grandchildren, John and Maddie McMenimen. Also surviving is his brother Otto Kremmin and sister Marion Fredin. Besides his wife, Joni and parents, Ed was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth. **A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 2 to 5 pm. **Inurnment will take place on June 26th, 2020 (Ed's Birthday) at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Windom.
