Edward Henry Zuehlke was born on January 9, 1913, in Good Thunder, Minnesota to the late John and Alma (Rosin) Zuehlke. He received his education in the Good Thunder area. In 1943, Edward was united in marriage to Agnes Jane White. After marriage, Ed and Agnes lived in Mankato before moving to Winnebago and then, in 1957, they moved to Garden City, Minnesota. For many years, Ed worked as a farm laborer and then at Mankato Masonry and Superior Block Company for twenty-three years until retiring in 1978. In November of 1984, Agnes passed away. After her death, Ed continued to live in Garden City until moving to Windom, Minnesota four years ago to live closer to Jim. Two years after moving to Windom, Ed became a resident of the Mt. Lake Good Samaritan Village in Mt. Lake, Minnesota. On Thursday, May 31, 2007, Ed was admitted to the Windom Area Hospital where he passed away a short time after being admitted at the wonderful age of 94!! Ed will be remembered for several things in life including his enjoyment of fishing and hunting, junking, his dogs, listening to church music in the mornings on Sundays and to polka music in the afternoon and most of all his family, especially his grandchildren. Ed is survived by his four sons, William Zuehlke of Garden City; John Zuehlke and his wife, Donna of Garden City; Robert Zuehlke and his wife, Mary of Mankato; James Zuehlke and his wife, Lisa of Windom; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Zuehlke and his wife, Lois of Garden City; one sister, Rena Larson of Eagle Lake; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death his wife, Agnes Zuehlke; four brothers, Harold, Martin and Alvin Zuehlke; and one sister, Elsa Blum. Blessed be the memory of Edward Henry Zuehlke.
