A Celebration of Life Service for Eleanor Howard, age 97, of Jackson, will be held at the United Methodist Church in Jackson, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with a time of visitation and gathering for one hour prior to the service.

Eleanor Ruth Howard was born on August 15, 1928, to Joseph and Edina Smith in Mawlamyine, Burma. She grew up with a deep and abiding faith that would guide her throughout her life and shape the compassionate, selfless woman she became.

In 1952, Eleanor met Reverend Robert Howard, and the two were united in marriage in 1954 in Burma. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Mimi and Arthur. Together, they shared a life rooted in faith, service, and devotion to family.

Eleanor was a woman of quiet strength and unwavering faith. Though gentle and reserved by nature, she was always willing to help those in need. Her kindness, humility, and selflessness touched the lives of many. She found fulfillment in caring for others and serving as a faithful example of Christian love.

Eleanor passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson, Minnesota.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mimi Howard; her son, Arthur (Casey) Howard; her granddaughter, Mina Howard; her brother, Arthur Smith; and her sister, Helen Olson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reverend Robert Howard, and her parents, Joseph and Edina Smith.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Good Samaritan Society, Colonial Manor Nursing Home, and all those who provided Eleanor with love, care, and support throughout the years.

Eleanor will be remembered for her steadfast faith, gentle spirit, and the quiet acts of kindness that reflected a life well lived and deeply devoted to others.

With a thankful heart, I praise God for greetings from friends and relatives all over the world. My life has been blessed.
