Obituary

Eugene "Bud" Muller, 94 of rural Windom passed away peacefully on March 7, 2019 surrounded by his family at his farm. Bud was born on June 5, 1924 in Dale Township of Windom, Minnesota. He was the son to Ernest and Helen (Ficken) Muller. He received his early education at the Three Lakes School House and then attended Windom High School; graduating in the Class of 1942. Bud farmed his entire life north of Windom and was best known for "Bud's Spuds". Bud met and married the love of his life, Lenora R. Klaassen on October 27, 1946 and together they found love, raised three children and built a beautiful marriage. Their 69 years together they spent raising potatoes, corn and soybeans. Bud was a lifelong member and usher of the First Presbyterian Church in Windom. He served in the Minnesota State Guard during World War II. He was a Past Master of Siloam Lodge #330 of Jeffers and a member of the Prudence Lodge #97 of Windom and a member of the Zuhrah Shrine of Minneapolis. Bud had many enjoyments in his life which included traveling coast to coast, his passion for flying, member of flying farmer, fishing, hunting, trap shooting, golf, bowling, dancing, snowmobiling and family gatherings. Bud taught us all to treat everyone the same. Words that describe Bud to a "T" are compassion, kindness, humility and patience. Bud is survived by his two daughters, Barbara (David) Hinson of Hendersonville, NC; Rebecca (Bill) Mickelson of San Tan Valley, AZ; one son, Nicholas (Debbie Peters) Muller of Windom; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Yvonne (Kenneth) Wolff of Windom; Sharlene Long of Glenwood; good friend, Elaine Lesch of Windom; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bud is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lenora Muller on October 25, 2015; one great-grandson, Kelby William Alan Oddson; sister, Bernice "Sis" Waechter; two brothers-in-law, Charles Waechter and Harlan Long. Our family thanks you for coming today in celebration of Bud's life.
