Eugene Jerold Fast was born on August 3, 1955, to Harry and Alice (Stoesz) Fast in Mountain Lake. He was baptized at the Cornerstone Church in Mountain Lake. Eugene attended elementary school in Delft and Butterfield, and graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1973. After high school, he attended Alexandria Technical School for diesel mechanics. He attended the Gathering Church in Bingham Lake. On September 8, 1979, Eugene was united in marriage to Sheli Sutherland at the Jeffers Baptist Church. This marriage was blessed with three children; Nicholas, Ashley, and Chelsey. In 1979, Eugene and his brother Myron started a repair shop in Windom, and later worked at Curl Implement. Eventually, Eugene and Tim Hacker were co-owner's of Windom Farm Service for many years, until he began his dream job, farming in 1994, when his family also moved to the farm. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time at Fish Lake with his family. Eugene could be found at Godfather's every Friday for the lunch buffet with his friends. He spent a lot of time working on equipment and tractors at his farm. Above all, his greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his wife Sheli, his children, and his grandson. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Sheli; three children, Nicholas Fast of Springfield, Ashley (Jeremy) Drummer of North Mankato, and Chelsey Fast of Windom; one grandchild, Dane Fast of Springfield; three siblings, Ken (Jean) Fast of Windom, Myron (Dawn) Fast of Mountain Lake, and Diane (John) Crawford of Spring Hill, TN; sister-in-law, Marcia Fast of Mountain Lake; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Alice Fast; two brothers, Dale Fast and Randy Fast. Blessed be the memory of Eugene J. Fast.
