A Celebration of Life Service for Evelyn Ysker, age 97, of Windom, will be held at Lacanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom on Saturday, March 21st at 12:00 PM, with a time of visitation and gathering for one hour prior to the service from 11:00 to 12:00 PM. Burial will be in the Memory Garden's Cemetery in Windom.

Evelyn Lillian (Trapp) "GG" (Great Grandma) Ysker was born on August 27, 1928, on the family farm in Cottonwood County, Minnesota, to the late Herman and Alma (Quiram) Trapp. She was confirmed on April 18, 1943.

On October 28, 1947, Evelyn was united in marriage to Robert Ysker. Their union was blessed with four children, Gary, Kathy, John and Gail. Evelyn found great joy in her family and especially treasured time spent with her children and later, her grandchildren. In her quieter moments, Evelyn enjoyed tending her garden at Hillside Manor and challenging herself with word searches.

Throughout the years, Evelyn worked at several businesses in Windom, including Wolff's and Ostenson's clothing stores, Hardees and McDonald's. She fondly remembered her time working in the restaurants and the connections she made there. In 1997, Evelyn was honored as a recipient of the Windom Mayor's Medal of Honor. She and Bob shared many happy experiences together, including traveling with the RV to polka festivals, dancing, and spending their winters in the south.

Evelyn Ysker passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1st at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Kathy Earhart of Grand Rapids and Gail Craig of Alexandria; daughters-in-law, Lynn Ysker of Belmond, IA, and Linda (Ysker) Paplow of Windom; twelve grandchildren, Devon (Tammy) Ysker, Telly (Amy) Ysker, Nicky Ysker, Michael (Alyssa) Earhart, Matthew Earhart, Amy (Noel) Griese, Justin Ysker, Nathan (Kristia) Ysker, Nolan (Julie) Ysker, Kasey Craig, Trevor (Josapha) Craig, Landon (Bethany) Craig; twenty-six great-grandchildren, Paige, Chevelle, Torea (Tyler), Dylon (Brandon), Samantha, Greyson, Emerson, Madeline, Carter, Charlotte, Ethan (Sidney), Elijah, Ellie, Everly, Haleigh, Molly, Ryan, Chloe, Kassidy, Aliva, Sydney, Kingston, Weston, Roy, Karsen and Bailey; and three great great-grandchildren, Asher, Lane and Hayden; sisters-in-law, Joyce Carmichael and Joyce Ysker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Ysker; sons, Gary Ysker and John Ysker; sons-in-law, Michael Earhart and Dennis Craig; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Craig; and brother, Wally Trapp.
