Frank Louis Ambrose was born on March 13, 1935, at his home in rural Jackson County, Minnesota to the late Frank Thomas and Anna Elizabeth (Skalsky) Ambrose. He received his early education in rural Jackson County and graduated from Jackson High School in the Class of 1953.
After graduation, Frank met Mary Jane Crowell of Windom. In July of 1955, he was drafted into the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict until being honorably discharged in March of 1957. They were engaged on September 27th, 1955, when he was home on leave. Frank and Mary were united in marriage at the First United Methodist Church in Windom on June 8th, 1957. This Union was blessed with 5 children: Barb, Diane, Jerry, Gail, and Roger. Frank and Mary then purchased a farm from Lester Crowell and started farming until the early 2000's when they retired. The following year they started an auto repair shop and salvage yard. In 1971, Frank started to sell Sno-Jet Snowmobiles until 1976. Frank continued with his repair shop until 2018, however he never really retired.
Frank loved his family and spending precious time with them. There was always about 25-45 people out on the farm for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter.
Frank Enjoyed bird watching, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, and Jackpot Junction.
Frank passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday evening June 30th, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society Sogge memorial in Windom.
Left to cherish Frank's everlasting memory is his wife, Mary Ambrose; children, Barb Hepp, Diane (Randy) Ringquist, Jerry (Lisa) Ambrose, Charlie Dunker, Roger (Karla) Ambrose; 32 grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Tom (Mary) Ambrose; and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna Ambrose; 2 sisters, Harriet Clark and Bonnie Swanson; one daughter, Gail Ann Dunker; and one grandson, Jeremy Alan Ambrose.
