Frank J.
Dvorak Jr.
Jul 10, 1952 — Aug 26, 2023
Frank J. Dvorak Jr, age 71, of Rural Jackson, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN.
Frank was born on July 10th, 1952, to Frank Sr. and Ruby (Jensen) Dvorak in Bertha, MN. He graduated from Bertha High School in 1969. After high school, Frank traveled to North Dakota and started working in road construction. After coming back home from North Dakota to visit family and friends, Frank met Cheryl Twardowski at a dance, and they hit it off. After meeting her, he decided that he didn't need to go back up to North Dakota again and moved back. Frank and Cheryl were united in marriage on April 5th, 1975, in Browerville, MN, and together they raised two children, Justin and Michelle.
Frank's love for trucking began while he drove a milk truck outside of Clarissa, MN. He later went to work for Long Haul Trucking out of Albertville, MN, and was John Daniel's first truck driver while still living up north. As the years went by, Frank decided he needed to be able to spend more time at home, so he and Cheryl moved to Jackson after finding out about available jobs at AgChem (AGCO) from his longtime friend, Jim Sudbeck. At AgChem, Frank was first involved in equipment shipping before transferring to the trucking portion within the company. After being laid off from this job, Frank purchased a 2004 Ag-Chem Terra Gator Sludge Machine and he and his family moved back up north to start a custom manure application business. After two years in that business, they decided to sell and move back to Jackson where Frank went to work driving for Perry Rosenbrook (Jackson Motor Express). In 1985, Frank purchased his first truck and leased on to JME, and hauled grain, feed, Pioneer seed. He eventually went back to hauling for AgChem (AGCO) hauling equipment. At this point in his life, Frank had enough experience from his various jobs, that he was able to start Dvorak Trucking, Inc. He operated this company for many years, before retiring in 2022 and handing over the reins to his son, Justin.
Frank loved his family very much and was very proud of the children he and Cheryl had raised, and of their children. He loved spending as much time with his grandchildren as he could and enjoyed watching Josie and Jessica barrel racing at the rodeo. He enjoyed horse riding, camping, riding motorcycles, and deer hunting. He treasured the time he was able to spend with family and friends on the front porch, sharing stories and sipping on his Pendleton Whiskey or Coors Light.
Frank's memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 48 years, Cheryl; children, Justin Dvorak of Jackson, MN, and Michelle (Josh) Appel of Sun Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Josie and Jessica Dvorak, Emerson and Ledger Appel, and one on the way; brother, Neil (Cheri) Dvorak of Estelline, SD; sister, Debbie Bruder of Long Prairie, MN; brother-in-law, Jeff (Karen) Twardowski of Long Prairie, MN; sister-in-law, Michelle (Jeff) Bauer of St. Cloud, MN; as well as many other family and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Ruby (Jensen) Dvorak.
Blessed be the memory of Frank Dvorak Jr.
