Gary Vern Hall was born to the late Lavern and Grace (Johnson) Hall on March 2, 1952, in Lakefield, Minnesota. Gary was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended school and graduated from Jackson Public High School. After graduation Gary began working as a Transportation Specialist with Land O. Lakes, Perry Rosenboom, and the local Co-op.

Gary was united in marriage to the love of his life Carla Weidling on July 17, 1976, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield, Minnesota. Together they moved to Jackson, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with a son, Matthew.

Gary was a hobby farmer at heart. He enjoyed spending time with his hands in the dirt in his garden. His caring heart has a special place for horses and cats. He also loved spending time helping his son, grandchildren, and helping care for his friend's children. He was a homebody; you could find him enjoying a sci-fi movie on the couch.

Gary Hall passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carla of Jackson, MN; son, Matthew Hall of Minnesota Lake, MN; grandchildren, Tavia and Maverick of Mankato, MN; three great-grandchildren; brothers Scott Hall of Melvin, IA, and Lawrence (LaVonna) Hall of Sanborn, IA; sisters, Ruth Gentry (Steve Gentry) of northern Minnesota and Lori (Roland) Figuroa of Olympia, WA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lavern and Grace Hall.

A Celebration of Life Service Visitation for Gary Hall, age 71, of Jackson, will be held Friday, February 16, 2024, at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
