A Celebration of Life Service for Georgina "Gina" Barnett, age 68, of Jackson, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center of Jackson, on Saturday, February 14th, at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering for one and half hours prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial cards are preferred.

Georgina "Gina" Marie Barnett was born on December 13, 1957, to William Barnett and Darlene Mix. Gina attended Austin High School in Austin, MN.

Gina was married to Joel Austin in May of 1978. Within that union, they were blessed with two children, Jason Joel and Nikki Marie. Later their marriage was dissolved. Gina loved her children with all her heart.

Gina enjoyed many activities throughout the years including 4-H, hunting for game, fishing and most of all the love of sewing. She was passionate about sewing for her home. One could tell as she had a state-of-the-art sewing machine and beautiful fabrics to go with it. Her interests also included reading biographies and collecting memorabilia of John F. Kennedy Jr. and the Royal family, especially Princess Diana. Having been close to her father, ancestry was important to her. She liked a good TV show while enjoying a crisp Pepsi. Though she held many interests, Gina's heart belonged to her grandchildren, Hudson Joel, Kipp George and Rudi Nicole.

Gina moved to Jackson in November of 2022 from Austin to be closer to her daughter. She eventually moved to the Good Samaritan Society of Jackson in July of 2024. There is where Gina passed away peacefully with her daughter Nikki and friend, Jodi by her side, on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026.

Gina is survived by her daughter, Nikki Austin (Levi Feltman); her beloved grandchildren, Hudson Austin, Kipp Austin, Rudi Austin-Feltman; step mother, Lauretta Barnett of Austin; brother, Terry (Liz) Barnett of Corcoran; Danny (LisaJo) Willie of Partridge, KS; sister-in-law, Lynn Barnett of Blair, WI; all her nieces and nephews; and her friend, Jodi Wilder of Baudette, MN.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jason Austin; brother, Brad Barnett; and parents, William Barnett and Darlene Mix.
