Grace Stinar, age 94, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at The Palms Assisted Living in La Quinta, California.
Grace was born on January 20, 1932, to Minnie and Percy Livingston. She was raised on a farm in Round Lake, Minnesota, where she attended Round Lake High School. She went on to pursue her education at Mankato State Teachers College. Following her graduation, Grace taught elementary school in Okabena and later in the Sioux Valley School District.
On August 23, 1953, Grace was united in marriage to Tom Stinar at the Round Lake Presbyterian Church. The couple began their life together on Tom's family farm in Minneota Township. After many years of farming, they retired in 1988 and moved to Jackson, Minnesota.
Grace was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in Ladies Aid. She also contributed her time to the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Jackson and participated in various community and county events. Grace interests included gardening, fishing, spending time in nature and genealogy. She especially cherished time with friends and family, whether socializing or playing cards.
Grace and Tom loved travel, visiting friends and family across the United States and abroad. They also enjoyed seventeen years as "snowbirds," wintering in Texas.
Grace is survived by her children: Joseph (Carol) Stinar of St. Paul, Minnesota; Janet (Chris) Eastes of La Quinta, California; and Mary (Rick) Sparno of Fountain Valley, California. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Alexandra (Ryan) Kozaka, Bridget Eastes, Erin (Miguel) Martinez, Tom Stinar, and Ryan Sparno; and one great-grandchild, Hannah Kozaka.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Tom Stinar; parents; Minnie and Percy Livingston, her sister, Daisy Robertson; brothers, David Livingston and James Livingston; In-laws Dale Robertson, Robert Stinar, Anita Stinar Meyer and Kathryn Stinar Bosch, Audrey Livingston and Parents-in-law, Joe & Anna Stinar.
