Gregory "Greg" G. Johnson was born on November 29, 1961, in Hendricks, Minnesota to the late Richard Arlen and Agnes Ann (Torrenga) Johnson. He was baptized in Hendricks and later confirmed at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Hendricks. Greg received his education in the Hendricks Public Schools where he graduated in the Class of 1980. He then furthered his education at Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. On September 1, 1984, he was united in marriage to Paige Hanson. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Hunter and Landon. Later, this marriage was dissolved. For many years, Greg lived in Worthington, Minnesota before moving to Windom in 1992. For nineteen years, Greg worked for Cottonwood County in the Environmental Office as their park manager until 2009. He then went on to farm and work in construction. Recently, Greg was diagnosed with cancer and fought the disease courageously. He was placed in hospice care in his home where he passed away on Monday morning, December 11, 2017, at the age of 56 years. Greg was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Hendricks. He had many enjoyments in life which included fishing, hunting, golfing, cooking, taxidermy, working around the house and playing with his dog "Pat". Greg is survived by his two sons, Hunter Johnson of Minneapolis and Landon Johnson of Windom; one sister and two brothers, Debra (Ray) Beltran of Las Cruces, NM; Rick Johnson of Astoria, SD; Eric Johnson of Hendricks; and several nieces and nephews. Greg is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brian Johnson Sr. in 2016 and niece, Amy Dirnberger. Blessed be the memory of Greg G. Johnson.
