Gregory Shawn Dukleth was born 3/3/71 in Madison, WI to Naomi and John Dukleth. He was the third of 7 children. He enjoyed riding his BMX bike and learning to play pool. HIs father moved the family to Mankato MN where his father studied to be a pastor and then moved his family to Scarville IA. He had many friends there and enjoyed spending time with them and listening to music - his all time favorite pastime while a student at Lake Mills High school. Half way through his Sr. year of high school, he moved to Luverne MN as once again his father took a call. Greg would have preferred to stay in Scarville as he missed his friends there. He tried several different jobs both in Minnesota and Dallas Texas. He seemed to like driving around the big city and became very familiar with all the streets. His pride and joy at that time were a couple of Mazda RX7s that had rotary engines which seemed to really fascinate him. After returning to MN, he met the love of his life and married Jennifer on 5-1-15. He became the stepdad to 3 adult kids and eventually 8 grandkids. The grandkids simply adored him and he adored them. He was an excellent grandpa. He affectionately called his wife" friend " and commented how she was his best friend ever. He taught her some new fun activities; how to ride a motorcycle and play pool. In exchange for her learning his interests, he agreed to go horseback riding on their honeymoon and again on their 6th anniversary. He enjoyed listening to Jennifer play piano and organ and was happy that she played in church. . They had hours of fun together and were each other's best friends. He was a great motorcycle mechanic and enjoyed restoring old bikes and also enjoyed running in several half marathons. Upon moving to Windom in 2016, Greg meticulously worked on a tea rose garden and grew some roses the size of a small plate. Some roses were exhibited at the county fairs for Cottonwood and Jackson counties and it was so fun to see how they did. Throughout most of his adult life, Greg suffered from a mental illness which would hold him back from taking on many things that he could have done had he not been nervous and anxious around people. He always found his happy place with grandkids who just loved to play with him and visit with him. He enjoyed walks with his wife and just being with her. On 9/16/21, Greg succumbed to his illness and died at Mankato MN. He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him, but we rejoice that his struggle has ended and he has claimed the crown of life in heaven. We look forward to when we will meet again and get one of those great Greg hugs! He is survived by his mother, Naomi, Sisters Susan, Crista, Katie and Joni and brothers Jeff and Jason, 3 step children, 8 step grandchildren, 8 nephews and 2 nieces.
