Harold Conrad was born on a farm two miles west of Jeffers, Minnesota on December 11, 1914 to Herman and Ida (Quade) Conrad. He was baptized and later confirmed in 1931 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers. When Harold was 8 years old he moved with his parents to Beardsley, Minnesota and returned to Jeffers two years later. He graduated from Jeffers High School in 1931. On October 12, 1935, Harold was united in marriage to Eleanor Menk. They farmed on various farms in the Jeffers area. They have two children, Dan and Judy Conrad, both of Windom. In the Fall of 2000, Harold and Eleanor retired and moved to Windom, Minnesota. Harold passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom at the age of 94. Harold was a member of the Lion's Club, Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers where he served as a Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, and was on the church council. He was also a member of the Saddle Club, Master Gardener's, and Boots and Bows Square Dancing Club. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, playing cards and playing the harmonica, but most of all loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Windom; one son, Dan Conrad and his fiancé, Carol Hochstein of Windom; one daughter, Judy Conrad of Windom; one sister, Irene Peery of Eagle Bend; and several other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Everard Conrad. Blessed be the memory of Harold Herman Conrad.
