A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Harold Skow, age 86, of Jackson, will be held Wednesday, November 27th at 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson with Pastor Nancy Isaacson officiating. The family requests that guests of the Celebration of Life dress in casual attire (clean blue jeans). Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery in Jackson

A time of visitation and gathering will be held on Tuesday, November 26th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday, November 27th for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 AM. The service will be livestreamed on the church's Facebook page.

Harold Arthur Skow, the oldest son of Ralph and Edith (Williams) Skow was born at home in Jackson, Minnesota on January 27, 1938, and died November 20, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 86. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Harold shared stories of playing football with Jackson High School that was undefeated during the 1955 season. After graduation, Harold worked for Boeing Aircraft in the State of Washington. He was a member of Union State Line Lutheran Church in Peterburg, Minnesota.

Harold married Frances Hiller in 1958, and they enjoyed 66 years together. Harold and Frances had five children, Laurie, Christine, Steve, Paul, and Jennifer.

In 1962, Harold purchased his first farm, eighty acres south of Alpha and added more land over the years. Harold dedicated his life to taking care of his family. He developed a passion for cattle, land, raising healthy crops and persevered through unpredictable conditions.

A few of his favorite activities included online cattle auctions, attending land auctions, playing cards with the kids and having his morning coffee with the Burger King bunch. During 2010-2020, he attempted to relax with much-needed winter breaks, playing a little golf and exploring the Weslaco, Texas coast. Harold found time for sightseeing adventures in Hawaii, Alaska, Florida and a memorable South African Safari. There are many beloved pictures of Harold holding the latest grandchild in his arms, showing his genuine smile and love of children. Harold will be remembered for his values, courage and work ethic he abundantly poured onto his family.

Harold is survived by his loving wife, Frances; 5 children: Laurie (Randy) Skow-Anderson, Christine (Phillip Pucel) Skow-Pucel, Steve (Dawn B.) Skow, Paul (Dawn E.) Skow, and Jennifer (Patrick Washburn) Skow Hearn; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, his sisters Doris (George) Van Norman, Vera Carter, Martin (Anita) Skow and Richard (Virginia) Skow, sister-in-law Betty (Hiller) Rahbain and Bernie (Wenzel) Hynes along with numerous nieces and nephews.
