Hazel
Dehmlow
Oct 14, 1927 — Apr 2, 2026
A Celebration of Life Service for Hazel Dehmlow, age 98, of Sanborn, will be held at LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom on Wednesday, April 8th at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 9:30-11:00 AM. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in rural Windom, MN.
Hazel Dehmlow was born on October 14, 1927, in Dale Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota, to Frank and Anna (Siefkes) Williams. A graduate of Jeffers High School, she later married Lyle Dehmlow in Benton County, Arkansas. Throughout their marriage, they made their homes in the Minnesota communities of Wabasso, Redwood Falls, Sleepy Eye, and Sanborn.
Hazel was a woman of steady work and simple pleasures. She worked for 2 ½ years at Campbell's Soup in Worthington and dedicated 31 years to Control Data (later Zyrtec and Artesyn) in Redwood Falls. During her retirement, she enjoyed escaping the cold and spent a couple of winters in Arizona.
Nothing brought Hazel greater joy than her family. She loved camping and riding bike trails with them, and she was a constant presence in the stands at her children's sporting events. She especially cherished her time as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Hazel lived for the daily telephone calls from her "boys," always ending those moments with a heartfelt, "Thank you, sons."
A devoted follower of Christ, Hazel loved her Savior and was a faithful member of the Jeffers Baptist Church. She found great comfort and strength in her faith, truly living a life that reflected "Victory in Jesus."
Hazel passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the St. John's Lutheran Home in Springfield, Minnesota at the age of 98 years.
Hazel is survived by her five sons: Don of Pittsburg, TX, Doug (Susan) of Vermillion, MN, Joe (Rhonda) of Wahpeton, ND, Terry (Kim) of Denver, IA, and Dwight (Kris) of Hastings, MN; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and stepchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Lyle, in 1989; parents, and sisters: Ruth, Milly, Phyllis, Pearl; an infant brother; four stepchildren; and daughter-in-law, Jean Dehmlow.
