Henry Ngisa Nyandwaki was born on July 20, 1968, to the late Stephen and Leah (Matete) Nyandwaki, in Bomachoge Borabu (Kisii). He grew up in Kiango and attended Kiango Primary School (1975-1981), Kisii School (1982-1985) and Gendia High School (1986-1987). Between 1991-1994, Henry attended Mohanlal Sukhadia University, India, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He later acquired an Associate degree in accounting at the Dakota County Technical College. He lived briefly in Kisii Magena market before relocating to Nairobi. Henry worked as a Financial Manager of Wakenya Sacco for 12 years.

In 1998, Henry was united in marriage to Serah Muthio Matenge with a traditional wedding ceremony in Kenya. The couple renewed their marriage vows on February 6, 2008. Together, Henry and Serah raised their four children, Valentine, Stephen, Elizabeth, and Mark.

In 2008, Henry moved to the United States and settled in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, for four years, where he worked as caregiver at Angel's Care Center. Henry then moved to Windom in 2012 and was employed by the Good Samaritan Society as a caregiver, and then worked at Schwartz Farms farrowing department. The rest of the family moved to the United States in 2016 and joined Henry in Windom, Minnesota.

Henry was a member of the Kiango Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church and spent his life exploring, experiencing, and knowing God. He later joined the Nyambunwa PAG Church, where he was baptized in 2004. After moving to Windom, Henry and his family became members of the SDA Church in Windom. In Kenya, Henry was active with the Bomachoge Borabu Elders and was the Vice Chairman of the Kiango Diaspora Development Group, among others.

Henry was a kind and loving husband and father. He was devoted to his family and had many interests in life. He enjoyed reading magazines, books, and newspapers. He liked to garden and watch soccer.

On September 5, 2022, Henry sustained fatal injuries in a tragic automobile accident. His faith provides hope for salvation and eternal life through Christ Jesus.

Henry is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Serah Matenge of Windom; four children, Valentine Ngisa of Loma Linda, CA, Stephen Ngisa of Minneapolis, MN, Elizabeth Ngisa and Mark Ngisa of Windom; five siblings, Ebisiba, Moses, Tabitha, David and Benard Nyandwaki, all from Kenya; in-laws, Bismarck Ondara, Eunice Nyakegita, Ezekiel Ombaso, Doreen Nyaribo, and Rose Nyandwaki; as well as many relatives and friends.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Leah Nyandwaki; sister, Eunice Onsase; brother-in-law, James Onsase; and mother-in-law, Susan Matenge.

A Celebration of Life Service for Henry Nyandwaki, age 54, of Windom, will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, October 7th at the Evangelical Free Church in Windom. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.

A time of visitation and gathering will be held on Thursday, October 6th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom, with a prayer service at 6:00 PM.
