A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, June 20th at 4:00 PM at the Windom Methodist Church in Windom, with Pastor Mike McInnis officiating. Burial will be at Delafield Township Cemetery in rural Windom.

A time of visitation and gathering will be held Monday, June 19th from 5:00-7:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom. Visitation will continue Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church.

James "Jim" Frederickson was born on April 26, 1995, to Rick and Sue Frederickson in Windom, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the First United Methodist Church in Windom. James was the kind of guy who always stuck up for the underdog. He was kind and caring. He always made friends easily. Family was especially important to him, and he was a loyal friend and family member.

James graduated from Windom Area Public Schools in the class of 2013. He served as a youth volunteer for Junior United Methodist Youth (JUMYS) and United Methodist Youth (UMYS). He also volunteered to run sound and technology for several years at the church. James enjoyed music and appreciated many different genres. He worked part-time producing music with artists whom he had met and become friends. He loved being outdoors, canoeing, hunting, fishing, and taking camping trips. James had a sizeable hat collection. Jim's beloved dog, Torii, and cat, Benny, won his heart, but he had a love for all animals, especially penguins.

On July 25, 2022, James was united in marriage to Morgan Zapata by his father, Pastor Rick Frederickson, at the Springfield United Methodist Church, in Springfield, Minnesota. He said it was the happiest day of his life. Until recently, James worked part-time as a custodian.

James had a close and special relationship with Grandma Lois Jeffrey, Grandpa Frederickson, also known as "Bumpa" and Ron Flatgard. He loved his family and friends dearly and will be missed by many.

After a courageous battle with mental and physical health issues, on Saturday, June 10th, James passed away peacefully at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with family by his side.

James is survived by his wife, Morgan Frederickson of Springfield; two children, Brooklyn & Sylas; father and mother, Rick and Sue Frederickson of Windom; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Lois Jeffrey, and Dennis and Mary Frederickson, daughter, Keeley Quinn; two uncles, Gary Frederickson and Charlie Jeffrey.

Blessed be the memory of James "Jim" Frederickson.
