A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Janice Rehnelt, age 78, of Worthington, formerly of Windom, will be held Thursday, January 30th at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Dundee. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
A visitation for Janice will be held on Wednesday, January 29th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church in Dundee. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the First Lutheran Church for one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
Janice Faye (Willford) Rehnelt was born on December 24, 1946, in Worthington, Minnesota, to the late Vernon and Leona Mary (Walter) Willford. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Dundee, where she was a lifelong member. Her family resided in Dundee while growing up. Janice attended Fulda Elementary School and Fulda High School.
After High School, Janice moved to Windom, where she resided until 1991, when she moved to Jeffers. Janice was blessed with four children, Lori, Renae, Debra and Shannon. Through the years, Janice was employed at Fingerhut and Toro in Windom before moving to Worthington in 2005, she worked at the Blueline Café in Worthington and Crossroads Care Center.
Janice enjoyed sewing, quilting, cross stitching and bible study. She loved watching her grandson race in Slayton and in Jackson. Family was of the utmost importance to her. She would do anything for her family. She loved spending time with her family whenever she could.
On January 24, 2025, Janice passed away peacefully at the age of 78 years, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Left to cherish her memory is her children, Lori (Jerry) Ysker of Windom, Renae Dowdell of Worthington, Debra Kruse (Troy Windschitl) of Comfrey, Shannon Rehnelt of Windom; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Virgil (Carol) Willford of Dundee; sisters, Shari (Ed) Voit of Okabena; and Marilyn Starrett of Worthington; as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Mary Willford; grandson, Jaden Michael Dowdell; brother, Verlin Willford; sister, Cynthia Vanden Bosch; special friend, Melvin Garloff.
