Jason Dean Mekosch was born November 9, 1976, to Dean & Helen Mekosch at the Jackson County Hospital, and he passed away on July 22, 2025. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson. Jason was a brother to Karri and Justin and was blessed to be a father to Gage Michael and Aydan Dean. He attended Jackson schools and was active in football, wrestling, 4H, and FFA.

Jason lived most of his life in Jackson, although he spent several years in Sioux Falls. He worked various jobs, such as car sales, welding, and he also owned a tree-cutting service. Jason finally found a job he loved and was proud of, working at Jackson Housing Authority. He was always willing to help anyone in need. While Jason was involved in many things his true passion was riding his Harley, and he left this earth doing what he loved.

He is survived by his parents, Dean & Helen; his sons, Gage and Aydan; sister, Karri (Kyle) Klein; brother, Justin; nieces, Britny Olson and Katelyn (Darrin) Snook; great nephews, Oakley, Greyson, and Kannen Snook, and Ever Olson; many aunts and uncles; and special friends: Travis Swenson, Jon Nyberg, Bob Herman, Jessica Gottsche, Rob Pohlman, Bob & Mandy Juchem, Nakoma Wells, Perry Egdorf, Dave & Sara Schauer, Becky and Raine Joseph.
