Jerome Nathan Hancock was born on June 25, 1948 in Jackson, Minnesota to the late Nathan Harold and Gladys Alice (Nauschutz) Hancock. He received his education in the Windom Public Schools; graduating from Windom High School in the Class of 1967. He then furthered his education at Pipestone Vocational School; graduating with an AA Degree in auto mechanics. Jerome was drafted into the US Army for two years and then was in the Army National Guard/Reserve for sixteen years. On August 4, 1973, Jerome was united in marriage to Donna May Grimmius at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom. After marriage they lived a short time in Jeffers before making their home in Windom. For thirty-three years, Jerome worked for TORO as a line inspector until retiring in 2004. Through the years, Jerome enjoyed camping, fishing and time outside with his dog. On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, Jerome became suddenly ill and was taken to the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he passed away at the age of 71 years. Jerome was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom. Jerome is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Donna Hancock of Windom; two sons, Dean (Michelle) Grimmius of Brandon, SD; Michael (Nicole) Hancock of Ellicott City, MD; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter; two siblings, Trish Christner of Apache Junction, AZ; Doug (Irene) Hancock of Windom; and several nieces and nephews. Jerome is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kathy Grimmius. Blessed be the memory of Jerome Hancock.
