Jolene Pearl Rethwill was born on June 28, 1979, in Madelia, Minnesota to June (Carlson) and Thomas Rethwill. She was baptized and later confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Jackson. She received her education and graduated from Jackson County Central High School in 1998. In high school Jolene loved to play softball and even joined the school's team.

She loved going to the races with her dad and just spending time with her parents in general. She worked with her mom for many years at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson from when she was 16 years old until she was 22 years old. She loved helping people and always left a mark on everyone she met with her sky-blue eyes and beautiful red hair.

She married Jessie Timothy Ramos on February 14, 1999, the father of Jordon and Jazmine, she cherished them deeply in her heart. Jolene worked very hard in her life and always wanted to make everyone happy. She loved peanut butter desserts and Dr Pepper, as well as watching Nicholas Spark movies in her free time.

On May 28, 2001, Jolene fell in love with Mitchell Martinez, the father of her two youngest daughters Miranda and Heaven. Soon after, she moved to Espanola, New Mexico where she resided for 19 years, and carried on her passion for being a CNA and taking care of others. Towards the end Jolene moved back to Jackson, Minnesota and spent her last days getting to know her grandson Jayden and making sure he knew he was loved by her.

Jolene Rethwill passed away in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 13, 2024.

Jolene is survived by children, Jordon Rethwill of Fairmont, Jazmine Ramos (Jayden) of Jackson, Miranda Martinez, Heaven Martinez of Espanola, NM; siblings, Kasey Rethwill (Eric) of San Antonio, TX Matt Rethwill (Jessica) of New Ulm, MN; uncles, Darwin Carlson (Sabrina), Darrell Carlson (Kathy) of St. James, MN and many nieces and nephews who she loved and cherished deeply as well as many cousins and friends.

Jolene was preceded in death by her parents, June Carlson and Thomas Rethwill; grandparents, Stanley and Arlene Carlson; sisters, Dawn and Jill Rethwill.

Jolene will be put to rest in the Spring of 2025 at West Sveadahl Cemetery.
