A Celebration of Life Service for Joyce Beseke, age 91, of Jackson, will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Jackson on Tuesday, December 23rd at 10:30 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering for one hour prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Joyce will be laid to rest in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.

Joyce Elaine (Whisney) Beseke, daughter of Joseph and Frances (Matajka) Whisney was born on August 17, 1934, in Jackson, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Jackson.

On August 21, 1955, Joyce was united in marriage to Vernon Beseke at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Jackson. This marriage was blessed with three children, Cheryl, Mark and Gary.

Joyce and Vernon farmed for many years in Enterprise Township until retirement. They were longtime, dedicated members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alpha until 1996 when they became members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Joyce loved volunteer work with her goal to help others. Her love was for God, family, church and friends.

Joyce passed away peacefully at Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn on Friday morning, December 19th, 2025, at the age of 91 years.

Joyce is survived by her two children, Cheryl (Phil) Atwell of Ihlen and Gary (Lori) Beseke of Alpha; grandchildren, Dustin Beseke of Rock Hill, SC; Christina (Tyler) Hughes of Pipestone; Lucas (Staci) Beseke of Jackson; Shawn Flatebo of Canton, SD; Katrina Atwell of Cedar Rapids, IA; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Whisney, Jr. Jackson; plus many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceding Joyce in death are her parents; husband, Vernon (2010); son, Mark (1970); two infant brothers; sisters, Violet (Willard) Johnson; Pauline (Roy) Johnson; Frances (Steve) Pavelko; Marcella (Jack) Richmond; and Eveline (James) Jasper.
