Obituary

Julene Valoris Dehmlow was born on July 8, 1934, on the family farm in Stately Township, Brown County, Minnesota to Oscar and Clara (Tordsen) Tews.

Julene was united in marriage to Vernon Dehmlow on October 8, 1950. This union was blessed with five children, Lois, Gary, Don, Dave, and Brad. She was affectionately known as Nana to her children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who were a source of great pride and happiness.

Julene went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 28, 2023, while receiving hospice care at Boulder Ponds in Lake Elmo, MN. Julene loved God deeply and was devoted to her family. She worked as a homemaker most of her life. Her home was always a place of comfort and peace and her excellence as a cook and baker was matched by few. She also made wonderful canned goods that were shared and enjoyed by her children and grandchildren. Julene and Vern treasured their friends and were good neighbors. Lifelong friends Alvin and Phyllis, Otto and Gertie, and Rev. Lloyd and Nancy Shirley were especially loved by them.

Julene is survived by four children, Gary (Ruby) Dehmlow of Woodbury, MN, Don (Karen) Dehmlow of Forest Lake, MN, Dave (Patricia) Dehmlow of Spooner, WI, and Brad (Nancy) Dehmlow of Butternut, WI; and by 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Rod Dehmlow, Jerry, Mike, and Leroy Gibson; sisters-in-law, Jan Dehmlow and Beverly Evans; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Julene was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Vernon; her parents Oscar and Clara Tews; her daughter, Lois McNeal; her brothers, Merlyn Tews and Kenny Tews; and by her sister, Lamae Marks.

The family will receive relatives and friends during visitation, which will be held on Saturday, February 4th beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Center Point Church in Mountain Lake MN.
