A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Keith Buresch, age 61, of rural Windom and Lakefield, will be held Friday, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Windom Methodist Church with Pastor Mike McInnis officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Lakefield Cemetery in Lakefield, Minnesota.

A time of visitation and gathering will be held on Thursday, August 22nd from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Windom Methodist Church in Windom. Visitation will continue Friday at the church for one hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM. The service will be livestreamed on the church's Facebook page.

Keith William Buresch was born on October 21, 1962, in Lakefield, Minnesota, the youngest son of Emil and Martha (Neuman) Buresch. Keith was baptized and confirmed at the First United Methodist Church of Lakefield. He attended Pleasantview Elementary School and graduated from Lakefield High School in 1981. While in high school, he was active in the Future Farmers of America earning the Minnesota State Star Poultry Proficiency Award for his flock of laying hens. Before his senior year of high school, in August of 1980, he started selling seed for Funk's G Hybrid. Keith graduated from South Dakota State University with a B.S. in Agronomy in 1985. After college, Keith returned to Lakefield to farm with his family and operate his seed business.

On June 22, 1985, Keith married Pauline Klassen at Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. They were blessed with three children: Amanda, Luke, and Levi. Keith and Pauline made their home north of Lakefield before moving to Fish Lake near Windom, Minnesota, in 2014. Keith passed away peacefully at his home on Monday morning, August 12, 2024, at the age of 61 years.

Keith was a member of the Windom Methodist Church. His faith and belief in God were an important part of centering his life when struggles came to test him. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Keith had a passion for agriculture. He was a longtime active member/board member of the Jackson County Farm Bureau. He had a fondness for agriculture's past, but he did not long for its former days. His willingness to look forward and take on new challenges saw the family farm grow over the years. Keith ran a seed business for 43 years. During this time, he grew it into a multi-brand dealership selling numerous brands out of the "seed barn", early 1900s barn on the farm. Keith was always delighted to converse with his customers on all types of matters. He enjoyed raising laying hens, going on crop tours, spending time at Fish Lake, planting the sweet corn patch, and collecting seed brand signs. Keith was knowledgeable about various areas and periods of history. He appreciated old movies and tv shows with the ability to recall enthusiastically innumerable lines of dialogue.

Keith is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pauline of rural Windom; daughter, Amanda (Casey) Jandera; son, Luke (Emily) Buresch; seven grandchildren, Karina, Mira, Liesel, Peytra, and Ahna Buresch, Oliver and Abigail Jandera; mother, Martha (Neuman) Buresch; brothers, Michael (Susan) Buresch and Byron (Keri) Buresch all of Lakefield; brother-in-law, Orvil (Karen) Klassen of Windom; sister-in-law, Myra (Craig) Stoesz of Mound, MN; and many nieces and nephews who loved and respected Keith's wit and wisdom.

Keith was preceded in death by his son, Levi Buresch in 2012; his father, Emil Buresch; father-in-law, Harold Klassen; mother-in-law, Ann Klassen; and sister-in-law, Inez Klassen.
