Kenneth L
Anderson
Jun 10, 1935 — Jun 12, 2026
A Celebration of Life Visitation to honor the life and memory of Kenneth "Kenny" Anderson, age 91, of Westbrook will be held Friday, June 19, 2026 from 5 to 7 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom.
Kenneth "Kenny" Leroy Anderson was born on June 10, 1935, in Westbrook, Minnesota, to Raymond and Florence (Larson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Kenny spent his childhood on the family farm west of Westbrook and attended Westbrook Public School, graduating with the Class of 1953.
On November 14, 1954, Kenny was united in marriage to Gwen Johnson of Dovray, Minnesota, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Dovray. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work.
Kenny began farming and, in 1957, started working for Central Livestock in Tracy, Minnesota. He remained there until 1966, when his love for farming called him back to Westbrook. In addition to farming, Kenny owned and operated a cattle order-buying business from 1966 until 1990. He was actively involved in his community, serving on the Westbrook Elevator Board for 18 years. He was also a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and as an usher.
Kenny enjoyed a variety of interests throughout his life. He and Gwen shared a love of travel and visited 49 states together, missing only Alaska. He enjoyed playing cards, caring for his lawn, and creating projects from reclaimed wood. Sunday evenings often meant popcorn and treasured time with family. More than anything, Kenny loved having his family gathered together, creating memories filled with laughter and love.
Kenny will be remembered for his generous spirit, willingness to help anyone in need, warm hugs, welcoming smile, and wonderful sense of humor. His kindness and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Kenneth LeRoy Anderson, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, with his family at his side.
Left to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Janet Peterson of Windom, Minnesota; Mary (Ryan) Noomen of Westbrook, Minnesota; Marjorie (Steven) Kujawa of Atwater, Minnesota; and Jeanine Anderson of Plymouth, Minnesota; his ten grandchildren, Naomi, Nicholas (Shantel), and Jared Peterson; Debi (Jim) Brummer; Abraham (Tanlee) and Melanie Noomen; Derek (Amy) Lamb; Jaime and Jed Kujawa; and Angelea Anderson. He was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren. Kenny is also survived by his brother, Robert Anderson of Westbrook; his sister, Ramona Swanson of Richfield; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gwen; his parents, Raymond and Florence Anderson; his brother, Marvin Anderson, and sister-in-law, DeEtte Anderson; his sister, Deloris Lindley, and brother-in-law, Donald Lindley; and his sister, Lorraine "Punky" Wahl, and brother-in-law, Ken Wahl.
Kenny's legacy of faith, hard work, generosity, and love for family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
His pleasures were simple, his needs were few, if his family was happy, he was too. He was always unselfish, helpful, and kind, what beautiful memories he left behind. Always in our hearts.
