Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Paulson was born on May 2, 1938, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota to the late Oscar and Almira (Tobiason) Paulson. He received his education in the Jackson Public Schools, graduating from Jackson High School in the Class of 1956. Ken was baptized and later confirmed at the Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Bergen. Ken served his country honorably for over twenty years as a member of the Minnesota National Guard. On August 24, 1963, Ken was united in marriage to Joyce Christenson at the Methodist Church in Lake Park. This marriage was blessed with four daughters, Karen, Carol, Jana and Esther. Through the years, Ken and Joyce live in various locations in Windom and Jackson areas before settling in Windom. Ken worked various jobs for several years until he went to work at the Cottonwood County Highway Department as a sign man and snowplow driver until his retirement. After retiring, Ken continued to live in Windom. Joyce passed away on July 27, 2016. In June of 2018, Ken became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom where he continued to live until passing away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Ken was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Bergen. He also was a member of American Legion Post #206 in Windom, The Son's of Norway, Windom Baseball Association, and a charter member of the Windom Chordhustler's for over fifty years. Ken will be remembered for his sparkle in his eye, his kind, friendly, helpful personality, he enjoyed being the "handyman" around Windom, enjoyed supporting high school sports, he was very patriotic, loved his family very much and most of all, loved his God. Ken is survived by his four daughters, Karen Vizecky of Windom; Carol (Jim) Spriggs of Mankato; Jana Paulson of Winnebago; Esther (Dion) Caron of Marshall; six grandchildren, Joshua Vizecky, Jonathan (Haley) Vizecky, Matthew (Jessica) Vizecky, Andrea (Jaryn Homiston)Caron, Damian Caron, Kassie Paulson-Marsh; two great-grandchildren, Keegan and Kylen Vizecky; brother-in-law, James Menting of Lake City; and many nieces and nephews. Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Almira Paulson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Lillian Christenson; wife, Joyce Paulson; sister, Deloris Menting and several other relatives and friends.
