Kevin Axel Johnson, age 58, was born to Grant and Dorothy (Arfstrom) Johnson on April 11, 1965, in Forest Lake, Minnesota. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith in Forest Lake and later confirmed in Windom. He began his education in Ada, Minnesota, and graduated from Windom High School in 1983.

Kevin started college at Minnesota State University – Mankato after high school. He was in the army from 1986-1988 and then returned to college in Mankato where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

Kevin had various vocations over the years but enjoyed working as a machinist making special metal parts the most. Kevin had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed playing youth baseball, hockey and scouting when he was younger. He was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan and enjoyed reading daily news and interested in history. Kevin collected baseball and football cards. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting ducks on his Grandpa Philip's beaver pond and deer hunting with family.

Kevin passed away in his home in Ramsey, Minnesota, on February 29, 2024.

Kevin is survived by his parents, Grant and Dorothy Johnson of Windom; son, Alek Axel Johnson of Owatonna; daughter, Megan Sue Johnson of Faribault; grandchildren, Mason and Theodore; brothers, Keith Johnson of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Todd (Dr. Jenny Severson) Johnson of Orono; sister, Sue Ellen Lyon of Burnsville; as well as other relatives and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Philip and Katherine Arfstom, Axel and Ethel Johnson.

A Celebration of Life Service for Kevin Axel Johnson, age 58, of Ramsey formerly of Windom, will be held Friday, March 15, 2024, at 1:00 PM at The American Lutheran Church in Windom with Pastor Adam Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Grue Lutheran Church Cemetery near Battle Lake at a later date. The service will be livestreamed on the American Lutheran Church Facebook page.

A time of visitation and gathering will be held prior to the service, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, at The American Lutheran Church in Windom.

Kevin Johnson passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024, in his home in Ramsey, Minnesota.
