Larry Joseph Welcher was born on June 12, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa to Larry Dean and Ruby Welcher. After graduation from high school, Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country until being honorably discharged in Minot, North Dakota. On September 26, 1997, Larry was united in marriage to Tammy Nutty in Warrensburg, Missouri. They lived in Knob Noster, Missouri before moving to the Windom area in 2012 and lived there until the present time. On Friday evening, July 1, 2022, Larry passed away unexpectedly in his home in rural Windom at the age of fifty-seven years. Larry had many enjoyments in life which included racing cars, guns, fixing cars, his puppy, and spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Michael. Larry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Tammy Welcher of Windom; three sons, Christopher Corey Welcher of Purvis, Mississippi; Austin (Lauren Kepler) Welcher of Windom; Hunter (Samantha) Welcher of Mankato; four grandsons, Cayden, Kaleb, Conner and Michael; one brother, Tim (Tammy) Browning of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and one sister, Christle (Paul) Yates of Clinton, Iowa. Larry is preceded in death by his father, Larry Dean Welcher.
