Laura Jean Tusa was born on December 20, 1960, to Charles “Charlie” and Beatrice Tusa in Jackson, Minnesota. She was the youngest of three daughters.

Laura graduated from Jackson High School in 1979 and went on to attend Alexandria Technical & Community College, where she earned her Associate’s degree in Radiography. After college, she returned to Jackson, where she married her boyfriend, Jim Hunt, on February 14, 1980, at the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. After a short time living in Rock Rapids, Iowa, Laura and Jim returned to Jackson, where she worked in the laboratory and X-ray departments at Jackson Hospital.

Laura was blessed with three sons: Josh Hunt of Lakefield, Minnesota, and twin sons, Adam Hunt and Andrew Hunt, both of Jackson, Minnesota. After 20 years of marriage, Laura and Jim divorced.

Even after being confined to a wheelchair due to multiple sclerosis, Laura continued to find joy in the simple things in life. She loved going to garage sales around town and watching her Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings with her boys and, later, with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking and proudly entering her baked goods at the county fair.

After a lengthy battle with multiple sclerosis and other health complications later in life, Laura answered Jesus’ call and passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, at Sanford Jackson Medical Center in Jackson, Minnesota.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Beatrice Tusa; and her sisters, LuAnn Hecht and Vickie Tusa as well as her special friend Rich "Butch" Pribyl.

She is survived by her three sons, Josh Hunt (Katelyn), Adam Hunt, and Andrew Hunt; and her four grandchildren, Kiara Hunt, Sophia Hunt, Kinsley Pressley-Mose, and Liam Hunt. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Tim Hecht; niece, Angie Blommer; and nephew, Will Hecht.

Laura will be remembered for her strength, her love for her family, and the joy she found in spending time with those she loved.

Laura will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery.

May Laura forever rest in eternal peace and may she be welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus.
