A Celebration of Life service to honor the life and legacy of Leona Roggow, age 104, of Vadnais Heights, formerly of Jackson, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson on Monday, June 30th at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 10 – 11 AM. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Petersburg.
The service will be livestreamed on the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center Facebook page.
Leona Louise Roggow passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 at the age of 104. She was born June 8, 1921, in Petersburg Township to Herman and Elizabeth Werner Roggow and raised on the family homestead near Alpha, MN. She went to country school in Petersburg, MN. She worked at Ben Franklin in Jackson and in Berlinton, IA. Leona moved to St Paul, MN and worked at Montgomery Wards and for 37 years at St Paul Companies which became Travelers as a key punch operator.
She was a long-time member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in St Paul, MN, becoming a member in 1955.
In her younger years, Leona loved playing cards, square dancing, ballroom dancing, traveling, baking, cooking, and working in the garden. She was a loyal fan of the Minnesota Twins baseball team and loved to watch their games on TV or listen to them on the radio. She had fond memories of attending games at the Metropolitan Stadium. She will be greatly missed by all her nieces and nephews who she deeply cared for and who called her Aunt Lee Lee.
Leona passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Suite Living of Vadnais Heights in Vadnais Heights.
Leona is survived by one brother, Victor Roggow of Spring Park, MN and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elizabeth Roggow; sisters, Mabel Motl, Alvina Potter Joos, Goldye Stahn; brother, George Roggow; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Roggow and Darlene Roggow; and brother-in-law, Francis Motl.
Blessed be the memory of Leona Louise Roggow.
Memorials are preferred.
