Leonard Russell Rehnelt was born on May 29, 1945, in Heron Lake, MN, to Henry and Evelyn (Majerus) Rehnelt. Leonard was united in marriage to Barbara Hansen on May 18, 1971, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom, MN. This marriage was blessed with three sons and one daughter. Leonard enjoyed drives around the area scouting for deer, bonfires, trips to Jackpot, and gardening. He had a green thumb and could grow potatoes even in the shade. Leonard was always tinkering with something. On Friday, December 31, 2021, Leonard passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from Covid-19 at the age of 76 years. Leonard was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom, MN. He is survived by three sons; Todd (Sherry) Rehnelt of New Richmond, WI, Tom (Nicki) Rehnelt of Le Sueur, MN, Jamie (Leah) Rehnelt of Windom, one daughter Jennifer Petersen of Windom; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren two brothers Ronald Rehnelt and Virgil Rehnelt and one sister Lorraine Benes. Leonard is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and by his parents and two brothers Jerome Rehnelt and Arnold Rehnelt. Burial will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, January 8th, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Windom.
