A Celebration of Life service to honor the life and legacy of Linda Elizabeth Wagner ,age 73 of Lakefield, will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 20th at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lakefield.

The service will be livestreamed on the Immanuel Lutheran Church Facebook page.

Memorial donation's in Linda's name may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran School, or radio station "Life 96.5" in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Linda Elizabeth (Schons) Wagner was born on April 10, 1951, to John and Dorothy Schons in Tracy, Minnesota. She was born pre-mature, and because of her small size she was also baptized as a child of God on that same day. Linda attended St. Mary's Catholic School from first to eighth grade. She graduated from Tracy High School in the class of 1969. After graduation, Linda attended Jackson Vocational School and graduated from the secretarial class in 1970. Linda then went to work as a secretary for Central Telephone in Fairmont and later for Ag. Chem in Jackson.

Linda met and later married David Wagner on June 15, 1973, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield. The couple made their home in rural Lakefield and raised seven children that God gave to them. On February 7, 1995, God took Linda's husband home, leaving her to raise their children by herself. She found employment as a cook at the Lakefield Senior Dining where she worked for 21 years.

Linda spent her life loving and enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel LWML, loved quilting for the church and on her own. She also enjoyed playing cards, bible study, gardening and her cookie jar was never empty

The Lord took Linda home on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

She is survived by her seven children: Melissa (Seth) Walton of Sibley, IA, Sarah (Isaac) Joens of Wilmont, Dan (Tanya) Wagner of Worthington, Jonathan (Sadie) Wagner of Worthington, Sheila (Justin) Scholten of Lakefield, Joseph (Maricela) Wagner of Worthington, Kimberly (Michael) DeVries of Alpha; 23 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings: Tony (Barb) Schons of Alexandria, Cletus (Chris) Schons of Tracy, Rose (Jeff) Zens of Currie, and Keith (Jeri) Schons of Tracy.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband, David Wagner; parents, Cletus and Dororthy Schons; and parents-in-law: Roy and Bonnie Wagner.
