Obituary

Lorraine Caroline (Christensen) Graff was born October 31, 1926 to Walter and Mary (Andersen) Christensen at their home in Willow Lake Township in Redwood County, Minnesota. She was the youngest of four children. Lorraine was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in Wanda, Minnesota and Confirmed at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton. She attended school through eighth grade in Wanda and graduated from Lamberton High School. Lorraine was united in marriage, to the love of her life, Alvin Walter Graff on January 9, 1945 at Christ Lutheran Parsonage in Wanda. They were married for 75 years. Their marriage blessed them with five children: Jane, Merle, Mary, Glen and Arlan. Lorraine was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran church. She helped serve at many funerals, made and sent an abundance of cards. She visited and brought food to numerous members in the church and community. Lorraine & Alvin moved into The Maples in Springfield, Minnesota in September of 2019. Previously they lived on their farm near Jeffers. Recently, Lorraine was hospitalized and passed away October 28, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center in Westbrook at the age of 93 years. Celebration of Life is on her 94th birthday. Lorraine loved to ballroom dance with Alvin, they went every weekend for over 30 years. They also enjoyed traveling. They traveled to all 50 states and many countries. Lorraine was active in Home Council, Extension, card club, garden club, and a 4-H leader. She was a secretary for most organizations she was involved in because of her beautiful handwriting. Lorraine loved to garden, she was so proud of her beautiful flowers especially her geraniums and roses. She was known for her baked goods especially her buns, t-rings and decorated cakes. Since retiring she made and sent many homemade cards. She is survived by her children, Jane (Gary) LaFollette of Nemo, SD; Mary (Don) Christopher of Letcher, SD; Glen (ValRee) Graff of Sanborn; Arlan (Sue) Graff of Northfield; and daughter-in-law, Paulette (Terry) Weese of Buffalo; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Alvin; her parents; son, Merle; and three siblings, Myrtle, Irene and Howard. Blessed be the memory of Lorraine Caroline Graff. Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Jeffers Cemetery in Jeffers, MN. Lorraine Graff passed away at the Westbrook Hospital, on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. The funeral service will be live streamed on the Trinity Lutheran Church's Facebook page and YouTube channel.
