Louanne Rae Grams was born on April 13, 1945 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota to the late John and Lucille (Lohmiller) Meyer. She was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimball Township, Jackson County, Minnesota and later confirmed in that same church. Louanne received her early education in the Mountain Lake Public Schools until moving to rural Bergen with her family and later graduating from Windom High School in the Class of 1963.
On April 10, 1965, Louanne Meyer was united in marriage to Stanford Harold Grams at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimball Township, Jackson County, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three children, Sandi, Randy and Wade. After marriage, Stan and Louanne made their home in Delafield Township and Louanne worked in the Human Resource Department at TORO until the early 1970's. She then stayed on the farm where she cared for her children and helped farm with Stan. In 1982, she began to work at the Windom Public Schools as a paraprofessional until retiring in May of 2010. Stan passed away on October 18, 2010. After his death, Louanne continued to live on the farm. On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, Louanne passed away at her home in rural Windom at the age of 75 years.
Louanne was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher in the 70's and 80's, on the Altar Guild, a member of the Spiritual Life and Fellowship Committee, packed/delivered ALC Love boxes and helped delivered Meals on Wheels. Louanne was also active in her community as a member of the United Fund Drive in Jackson County, the treasurer for the Delafield Township Cemetery Assoc., and a member of the Interlochen Club where she organized the Windom School Bike Rodeo/Safety Program for many years. Louanne also had many enjoyments in life which included spending time with the Chat-n-Chew Club, the Shed Crew, the Delafield Saturday Coffee Group, the Sunday McD's Coffee Group, 500 card club, spending weekends at Fish Lake and the Jackson County/State Fairs. Most of all, Louanne enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she was very proud of.
Louanne is survived by her two children, Sandi (Allen) Bartosh of Windom and their children, Hannah and Zachary (Macy Kalfs); Randy (Kim) Grams of Sarasota, FL and their children Tyler (Elizabeth), Jasmine (Devin Kopperud) and Levi; four great-grandchildren, Wesley and Wade Grams, with one on the way and Layla Grams, sister Joyce Meyer of Lakefield MN, brother Glen Meyer (Traci) of Perham, MN, brother-in-law, Roger Ahrens (Evelyn) of Fairhope, AL and nieces and nephews.
Louanne is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stan Grams; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harold and Elizabeth Grams; one son, Wade Grams; and one sister-in-law, Karen Ahrens.
