Lucille "Lucy" Jess was born September 15, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN, to John and Geneva (Rud) Larson. Her parents moved to St. Paul, MN in 1929, where she attended school. Lucy received Christ as Lord and Savior in 1944, then went to Northwestern College and McPhail School of Music in Minneapolis, before her marriage to Ted Jess on August 27, 1948. To this union were born three sons: Kermit, Tim and Ted, Jr. She received a PHT certificate (putting hubby through) from Pillsbury College and Central Seminary. She worked for Federated Insurance and School District #11 from 1961 to 1969. She was involved in many facets of Christian service, but probably is best remembered for playing organ or piano whenever necessary. Lucy died at her home in Storden, MN, on Tuesday, February 19, at the age of 81 years. She leaves her husband, of 59 ½ years, Ted; 3 sons, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
