Mae Marie
Jones
Nov 8, 1953 — Aug 1, 2023
Mae (Friederichs) Jones, age 69 of Madelia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
Mae was born on November 8, 1953, in Breckenridge, MN, to Peter and Elaine (Neubauer) Friederichs. Her parents later relocated their family to Sherburn, where Mae attended school and graduated from Sherburn High School with the Class of 1972. After high school, Mae moved to the Rochester, MN, area to attend college, and later moved to St. Paul before finally settling in Madelia in 1989. Mae was blessed with three children, Jeremy, Dana, and Charity. Mae was united in marriage to William Jones in Estherville, IA, in 1991.
Mae worked various factory jobs early in her life, and later became a nanny for the last 25 years of her life. She loved the children she worked with as if they were her own, and treasured the time she was able to spend with them.
Mae will be remembered for her very giving heart - she would help anyone out in any way that she could. She was a hard working woman, but when she was able to take time off she loved to spend it with family and her dogs. She greatly enjoyed her time fishing with her husband and son. Her skills in the kitchen were out of this world, and she often showed her love by making her family and friends delicious meals and desserts.
Mae will forever be remembered by her beloved children, Jeremy "Fred" Friederichs of Madelia, Dana White of Edgewater, Maryland, and Charity (Sam) Mack of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Isaiah, Braden, Olivia, and Azi; sister, Theresa (David) Laidig of Madelia; her furry children, Sweet Pea and Tango; and other relatives and friends.
Mae was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Jones who passed away in November of 2007; parents, Peter and Elaine (Neubauer) Friederichs; brother, Douglas Friederichs; sister, Geraldine Friederichs; and her beloved Pitbull, Blue.
A private celebration of Mae's life will take place at a later date.
Blessed be the memory of Mae Jones.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Mae's name.
Arrangements are under the care of the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson. Condolences and memories of Mae may be sent online to www.lacannefuneralhome.com.
