Marcus W. Crom was born on November 16, 1980, to Lashanna Crom in Sioux City, Iowa. Marcus attended most of his schooling in Walthill prior to moving to Sioux City where he graduated from West High School.

Marcus' love for music was seen at an early age through his involvement at the Methodist Church in Walthill and later while attending high school. This passion was seen from time to time when he demonstrated his singing at Karaoke.

Marcus moved to Lakefield, MN in 2003, where he resided with his great aunt Annavieve Rager. He held various jobs which included serving in management at hotels in Sioux Falls, Rochester, Jackson, Worthington and the Lakes area. He also worked at Jackson Co DAC, Holiday Station and Hage's in Lakefield. Along with serving as the manager of the "Brew" in Spirit Lake and working at the Dollar Tree in Spencer. He also enjoyed spending time helping at Brandt Gardens & Greenhouse, which is owned by his cousin Rhonda and Bill Brandt. He enjoyed delivering vegetables and helping at events, most of all he enjoyed helping his friends decorate their homes.

As a result of the various occupations, Marcus made an impact on a lot of people. It didn't matter where you went, everyone knew of him and had great stories to share. He has a special place in many people's hearts, and he will always be remembered for his smile, his honesty, and more. Along with hanging out with his friends, he really enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the lake in Wisconsin. He will be missed by many, but memories were made with those who were touched by his life.

Marcus W. Crom, age 44 of Lakefield, formally of Walthill, NE and Sioux City IA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

Marcus was survived by his mom Lashanna and his stepdad Dan Thies from North Sioux City, SD, Uncle Eugene and Grandfather Ray Crom from South Sioux City, Nebraska, Grandmother Beverley & husband Kelly Peterson, Sioux City Iowa, Great Aunt Linda Snow, Winnebago and Annavieve Rager, Lakefield and Great Uncle Donald (Karen) Crom, Omaha and several cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents George & Bernice Crom, Edna & Louie Snow, Great Uncles Donald and David Snow, and Andrew Wolfe and Cousins Dawn and Tim Snow.

A Celebration of Life for Marcus will be held at the Lakefield Multi-Purpose Center on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 12:00PM - 4:00PM, food served from 12:00PM - 2:00PM, with fellowship and sharing of memories throughout the afternoon.

He will be laid to rest at a later date in Lyons, Nebraska.
