Margy Wanda (Elness) Buhler was born on May 5, 1921, in Windom, Minnesota to Calmer and Clara (Tobison) Elness. She was baptized and later confirmed at the American Lutheran Church in Windom. She received her education from Windom Public Schools. On April 13, 1941, Margy was united in marriage to Wallace Buhler. This marriage was blessed with six children, Wallis, Gail, Gary, Claudia, Paul, and Mary. Margy and Wallace lived in Windom where Margy worked as a school lunch cook at the Windom Public Schools for over twenty-five years. After retirement, Margy and Wallace wintered in Arizona for nineteen years. On July 21, 2012, Margy moved into the Good Samaritan Society in Windom where she lived until passing away on Monday morning, November 5, 2012 at the age of 91. Margy was a lifetime member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom for ninety-one years where she sang in the choir, was a soloist at events, and in the Ladies Aid. She was a Girl Scout leader for twenty-five years and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. Margy was an artist and enjoyed art, painting, crafts and calligraphy. She loved playing cards and traveling. She will be remembered as a very busy and hardworking person. She is survived by her loving husband of seventy-one years, Wallace Buhler of Windom; six children, Wallis Kay (Merv) Spaeth of Backus, Gail (Gary) Mohlenkamp of Ogema, Gary (Cris) Buhler of Flower Mound, TX, Claudia (Birkenmeyer) Buhler of Kenosha, WI, Paul (Nancy) Buhler of Windom, and Mary (Alvin) Young of Mankato; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ralph Elness; and two sisters, Ione Warren and Alberta Elness. Blessed be the memory of Margy W. Buhler.
