Mead-Price
Mar 29, 1940 — Jan 4, 2025
A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Marilyn Mead Price, age 84, formerly of Jackson, will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, with a time of visitation and gathering from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and a Celebration of Life service starting at 12:00 PM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson with Pastor Schuetz officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson.

Marilyn Ella (Mead) Price was born to Rex and Ella (Schroeder) Mead on March 29, 1940, in Chicago, IL. Marilyn was joined by her twin brother, Donald and sister, Delores on January 21, 1943, in Jackson, MN. The family moved to Jackson after her father passed away from an illness, he caught being a veteran of World War II. Marilyn grew up in Jackson and was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sherburn and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Marilyn met Clyde Daberkow and the two were united in marriage on July 13, 1958. The couple then moved to Lakefield and were blessed with three children, Debra, Daniel, and Douglas.
Marilyn moved to several places and worked various jobs throughout her life. She worked at Ginny Mae Donuts and as a cook at Golden Heart Daycare while helping her son, Douglas raise his 3 daughters. They remained very close to the end. Her most memorable job was when she owned and operated a truck stop L & M Truckers Paradise Hotel & Cafe in Sioux City, Iowa. She moved to several places in Minnesota but has spent the last 20 years in Mankato to help take care of her sick mother and to be close to her brother, Don, and family that she loved very much. She went into hospice and moved to Fairmont to be closer to her son, Douglas and Connie, which made her final days much happier and easier by daily visits.
Marilyn loved to cook and garden. She enjoyed fishing and being outside until she became too sick and was not able to enjoy those things. Now she is enjoying the garden of Heaven with God.
Marilyn passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2025, at Goldfinch in Fairmont, MN.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Debra (Lenard) Daberkow-Wright of Crystal MN, Douglas (Connie) Daberkow of Sherburn MN; grandchildren, Ashley (Derek) Olson, Allison Richards, Amanda Daberkow, William Wright, Samantha Wright and Logan Wright; great grandchildren, Reese, Emmet, Barret, Riker, Anna, Alex, Elijah, Anthony, Kendra, Elora, Raven, Uriah and Gabriella.
Marilyn is preceded into Heaven by her parents, grandparents, her sister, sister- in- law and her beloved son, Daniel. I am sure they were all there to greet her with loving arms to the glories of Heaven.
